Gandaruban Subramanian

Gandaruban Subramanian faked his death to escape his debts and claim insurance monies totalling S$331, 341. Subramanian travelled from his home in Singapore to Sri Lanka where he obtained a death certificate stating that he had been killed in a civil war gun battle. His family were able to use this certificate to claim his insurance policies Using a fake passport he travelled to Singapore several times. Subramanian re-married his wife in Sri Lanka and they had a fourth child together. Subramanian was arrested at Singapore airport after a lawyer uncovered his scam
