Alfred Rouse

Following a head injury in WW1 Rouse had a personality disorder and a voracious sexual appetite. It is believed that he had 2 illegitimate children and was financially crippled by his child support orders. In the early hours of 6th November after bonfire night it is alleged that Rouse set light to his car with a body inside it in an attempt to fake his death. Unfortunately two witnesses saw Rouse leaving the scene and decided to investigate. When the police arrived the car registration was intact, identifying the owner as Rouse who had fled to Cardiff. Rouse was found guilty of murder and hanged taking any information he had about his victim to the grave. For years it was believed that the body in the car was William Thomas Briggs although DNA testing has proved this not to be the case.
